It has to be just very wet salt. I think if you put a heater in a water bath you'd be heating the chamber which would force the cycling of the fridge. Seems counter productive. You can try an ultrasonic fogger in a water container to make fog. It's a small puck that you place in water and it generates fog.<br /><br />The ceramic heater works well...hard to say if it's any better than a bulb, but i figure i now have it, might as well use it. It has temp control for the desired range... and it has a compressor and fan, not a cooling plate. To tackle the humidity... I placed a pan of water/salt in the bottom (rough estimation of 50/50). Within an hour I reached 74% humidity! I will continue to monitor, but all looks good.
